Luker Bros. (Removals and Storage ) Ltd is a long established
family business now in its fourth generation. The business
started more than 70 years ago with one small van delivering
various small orders to customers from local shops. This
continued until after the Second World War when the family
decided to expand by investing in a large furniture lorry
and concentrate more on furniture deliveries and house
removals.
In
1972, with a change in the family ownership of the company,
Luker Bros. became a limited company and a major expansion
programme was planned. From that time Luker Bros. (Removals
and Storage) Ltd grew from one van to what it is today
operating 16 commercial lorries and 5 trailers. They operate
from a two acre sight in a prime position on the Oxford
ring road near the main London A40 exit. Their warehouse
has been custom built and provides 42,000 sq.ft of warehouse,
storage and workshop space. They have 2,500 sq.ft of office
accomodation on the same site.
The services they now provide are local and UK
domestic removals; general
warehousing, containerised storage, document/archive storage,
self operated storage, door
to door European removal service, guaranteed
weekly service between the UK and Switzerland,
full overseas worldwide deep sea
shipping service by sea and air and a
freight forwarding service. With all these services
they can provide groupage/part load deliveries and collections
which are very popular as they are competetive and cost
effective.They are members of The
British Association of Removers (B.A.R.); and Household
Goods Forwarders Association.
Luker Bros. (Removals and Storage) Ltd is now controlled
by Mr. Raymond John Elbro (Managing Director), Mrs. Marian
Elbro (Company Secretary) and Matthew James Elbro (Company
Director). |
